Elements Festival invited us to create an interactive wandering troupe for the festival grounds. We went a little further and built a life-size, fantasy-based board game with chess-themed characters. Battle for Inner Peace was born!

The troupe had to hold its own on busy festival grounds with no stage and no schedule, an experience guests could discover, join and replay all weekend long.

We developed a full world of lore and storytelling set in a medieval realm of dark versus light, then designed and executed a 10x10 hand-painted game board with detailed challenges, including playful reimaginings of childhood team building games.

Festivalgoers stumbled onto the game in progress, were pulled in as players, and left as part of the story.

Battle for Inner Peace outlived the weekend and is now one of our original productions. Elements brought the show back in 2026, and we could not be happier to keep the game going.
